Children’s Advocacy Centers of Kentucky: Statewide Advocacy Coalition

Children’s Advocacy Centers of Kentucky (CAC Kentucky) is the statewide coalition dedicated to helping every child impacted by abuse. CAC Kentucky connects local Advocacy Centers and our partners with the tools, resources, and support needed to provide a comprehensive response to child abuse. They approached us to help expand their capacity as a resource, by communicating their critical work with the wider public to amplify awareness and support. The subject matter is heavy, but the organization is fundamentally hopeful.

We used a blue color palette, conveying strength and steadiness. The mark, both bold and reminiscent of a child’s jungle gym, evokes a bridge and speaks both to empowerment and to collaboration. Child-friendly, but not child-like. The language makes collaboration and hopefulness central to the way they talk about themselves. We recommended a photography direction highlighting children at play, drawing out their hopeful worldview. The website is an integral touchpoint for all stakeholders – state and national partners, families seeking services, and donors. We built a smart, intuitive web experience with each in mind, communicating both the seriousness and urgency of the work and the hope that is possible through it.
